Bassett Clifford E. Bassett, 88, 1209 S. Washington St., died Sunday afternoon in his home following a short illness. Born Jan. 15, 1882, in Augusta, Ga., he was the son of John and Harriett Bassett. He was married in 1909 to Effa M. Stockhouse, who preceded him in death Dec. 13, 1967. He had been employed as a tool and die maker for Kingston Products Corp. before his retirement. Surviving are five sons, Clifford Bassett of Clearwater, Fla.; John Bassett of Chicago, Ill.; Jack Bassett of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Charles William and Robert J. Bassett, both of Kokomo; three daughters, Mrs. Louis (Mary M.) Woycke, Ann Arbor, Mich., and Mrs. John (Anita) Gaskill and Miss Elizabeth Bassett, both of Columbus, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Three sisters and a brother are deceased. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Fenn Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Zimmer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 9 p.m. Tuesday.
