BIRTH, MARR., & DEATH: Captain George Knapp Collins, SPAFFORD ONONDAGA COUNTY, NEW YORK, NY; Onondaga Historical Association, 1902, p.150 (FHL US/CAN 974.765/S1 V3c): "Following children [of David Norton and Dinah nee Wilton] Omer, born Dec 12, 1801, died Aug 13, 1849 [likely 1850 because Omer was found in the 1850 census], married Mary A. Basset."

In the 1830 census of Bennington, Genesee, NY, p.129 (BYU Film, Roll 90) the Omar Norton household included: A male between 20 & 30 [likely Omer Norton], two males under 5 [likely sons, one being Julious born in 1828 & another with an unknown name], a female between 20 & 30 [likely wife Mary Amoret], a female between 5 & 10 [name not known].
In the 1840 census of Manilius, Onondaga, NY, p.160 (BYU Film Roll #100) the Omer Norton household included: A male between 30 & 40 [likely Omer Norton], two males between 10 & 15 [likely sons, one being Julious born in 1828], a male between 5 & 10 [likely a son], a female between 30 & 40 [likely wife, Mary
Amorett], a female between 15 & 20 [likely a daughter], two females under 5 [likely daughters, Jerusha A. born in 1836 & Lucretia C. born in 1840].
In the 1850 census of Alden, Erie, New York, p.133 (BYU film #17074 Roll 498) the Omer Norton household included: Omer Norton, age 48, m., farmer; Amerett Norton, age 48, f.; Julious Norton, age 22, m.; Jerusha A. Norton, age 14, f., attended school; Lucretia C. Norton, age 10, f., attended school; & George Howard, age 14, m., attended school. All were born in New York. Census was taken 9 July 1850.
LAND: In the land records of Granby, Hartford, CT, Vol. 14, p.143 (FHL film #4406) an indenture dated 17 Sep 1825 was made between Harlow Gillett of Granby, Hartford, CT and Elias Bassett of the town of Scott, County of Cortland, NY & Omer Norton and Amoret his wife of Spafford, County of Onondaga, NY. Elias Bassett and Omer & Amoret Norton sold 3/4 an acre of land located in Granby being in the Society of Salmon Brook and bounded on the west by the turnpike, and South & East by Bethuel Holcomb's land and on the North by Abrather Gillett's for $25.00. Witnessed by John Baxter and Silas Gillett. Recorded 27 Feb 1826.
Quit Claim Deed in 1825 in Granby, Connecticut 17 Sep 1825 "Elias Bafsett of the town of Scott, County of Cortland [NY] with Omer Norton and his wife, Amoret Norton of Spafford, County of Onondaga [NY]" sign for $25 as grantors for property located in Granby. This document is
witnessed by John Baxter & Silas Gillet. The property was "located in the vicinity of Salmon Brook on the west side of the turnpike road ... and bounded on the South and East by Jenajh Holcomb and on the south by Abraham Gillett and contains three fourths of an acre of land". In the 1830 census of New York, Elias Bassett and Omar are found living nine houses from each other in Bennington, Genessee County. The wife of Omer Norton was Mary Amerett Bassett.
