Lloyd B. Bass
SUMMERFIELD, La. - Funeral services will be held for Lloyd B. Bass, 82, at the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Johnie Adkins and Rev. Kenneth Nutt. Interment will follow at Summerfield cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Mr. Bass was born June 5, 1923 in Princeton, TX to Ben Bass and Emma Johnson Bass. He entered into rest Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005 at Homer Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Bass was a graduate of North Texas State University and received his Masters Degree from the University of Arkansas. He had a great love for the children that he taught while he was teacher and principal at the Bloomington Elementary School in Bloomington, TX. Mr. Bass was a Lt. Commander, U.S. Navy, Retired with 23 years of service, a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Jean Fielder Bass; one brother, Louis Bass and one sister, Ethel Mae Self.
Mr. Bass is survived by one daughter, Ann Bass Williams and her husband, Pat of Corona, CA; one brother, Roy Bass of North Texas; sisters-in-laws, Janis F. Daniels of Summerfield, LA, Dorothy F. Ferguson and her husband, John of Homer, LA and Mary Jo Zappa of Athens, LA; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
