Alice Gail Eastes Bass, 89 years of age was welcomed into the Father?s arms on Wednesday October 23, 2024. She was born in Sachse, Texas on Tuesday April 23, 1935, to Reverend George Wilkens Eastes Jr. and Edith Alta Andrews Eastes. She was welcomed home by older brother Dale Eastes. Gail grew up in Sachse and many other locations throughout Texas associated with her father?s pastoral duties. She was a graduate of Burkburnett High School.
Alice Gail was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was a pillar in her family giving love and loved by her family. She faithfully followed Jesus Christ in life and set an example of His love to those who knew her. She taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir. Gail worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant at Teledyne Geotech.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Bass; parents George and Edith Eastes; and brothers Michael and Dale Eastes.
She is survived by brothers George and Randy Eastes; and children Medwin Gattis and spouse April, Lynette Matson and spouse Laure, and Lori Kent and spouse Steven. She is survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Following death, a person?s life tends to become a variety of statistics, dates and relationships. To her family, Alice Gail?s life is much more. The loving impact she had on her family is immeasurable. Her many conversations, interactions and guidance will be remembered and missed immensely.
The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home 2925 5th Street, Sachse, Texas. A funeral service will be held at the same location following visitation at 11:00 am Rev. Marcus Alexander officiating. Interment will follow at Sachse Cemetery.
Pallbearers are grandsons: Eric Matson, Aaron Matson, Bobby Gattis, Ryan Gattis, Steven Kent II, William Kent.
