Martin Bradford Bassett
Martin Bradford Bassett, 77, of Fowler died September 2, 2008 at St. Mary Corwin Hospital in Pueblo. He had been transported form his home in Rye after becoming ill at his home early that morning.
He was born on July 1, 1931 in Rocky Ford, the son of Charlie P. and Roberta N. Yoder Bassett. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, having served in both the Air Force and Navy reserves. He married Mikell Barrett August 15, 1952 in Rocky Ford.
He had been a longtime Fowler resident and was involved in construction work as a general contractor for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Mikell of the family home, one son, Justin (Susan) Bassett and one daughter, Debra (Gary) Rogge and grandchildren, Chelsey Bassett, Cade Bassett, Josh (Liz) Rogge and Matthew Rogge. There is one great-grandchild, Logan Rogge.
At his request cremation has occurred. There will be no services.
Griffy Family Funeral Home in Fowler is in charge of arrangements.
His favorite charities were Disabled American Veterans, American Legion or Arkansas Valley Hospice.
