Louise Bassett
Louise Brinson Bassett was called home by our Savior on her birthday, February 14, 2014. Louise was born February 14, 1929 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to John and Jessie (Cochran) Brinson.
On April 7, 1948 in Mississippi, Louise married James H. Bassett and was married for 65 wonderful years. Louise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Jim and Louise have been members of Cross and Crown Lutheran Church in Georgetown, TX for over 15 years.
Louise spent her professional career working at the Texaco Oil Company, the Bassett Ford Dealership and operating a cattle ranch in Giddings, TX. She was involved in many activities, including president of the Pasadena city council of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Louise enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and visiting with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, James H. Bassett, her elder son, Larry Bassett (Karen) of Vermont and her younger son, Randy Bassett (Virginia) of Georgetown. Her grandchildren are Amy Barth (Joe) of Cornwall, VT, Laurie Bassett of Cornwall, VT, Mark Bassett (Charity) of Pickton, TX, Stephen Bassett (Erica) of El Paso, TX, Kathryn Moore (Brian) of Leicester, VT , Jonathan Bassett of Cornwall, VT, Robyn Bray (Mark) of Wylie, TX, and Krista Stegemiller (Jason) of Houston, TX. She is also survived by her niece, Jo Carol Kennedy of Brenham, TX and 20 great grandchildren.
