Funeral Set for R.W. Bass
DENTON, Texas (Sp.) ? Funeral services for Richard William Bass, 72, retired president of the First State Bank Of Denton, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery
Bass, a life long Denton resident, died here Saturday.
He had been associated with the First State Bank 44 years, serving as president for 12 years prior to his retirement in 1961.
An active civic leader, Bass was a director and past president of the Denton Chamber of Commerce. He formerly served as treasurer of the Denton County Fair Association, Denton County Red Cross, the Salvation Arny and the Greater Denton Industries Association.
Bass was a Mason, a former finance officer of the American Legion and a member of the Kiwanis Club and St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.
Survivors: Wife; two sons, Dr. Robert K. Bass of Dallas and Navy Cmdr. R.W. Bass Jr. of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Donale O?Neil of Dallas and Mrs. H.T. Witherspoon of Houston, and seven grandchildren.
