Joyce Bass
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she died at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012. She was 73, a native of Plaquemine and resident of Greenwell Springs, and a retired Apartment Manager. Visiting at Magnolia United Methodist Church, Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012 from 10 a.m. until service at 3 p.m. conducted by Pastor Lewis Morris. Survivors include her husband, Sidney G. Bass, Sr.; daughters, Melissa Bass and husband, Dean Hunt, Nora Lynette Bass and fiance, Shane Carter, Shawna Smith and husband Carl Smith, Lorrie Cousins and husband Jesse Cousins, Robin Adams and husband Ronnie Adams; sons, Sidney G. Bass, Jr., David Johnson, and Steve Beckham and wife, Lisa Beckham; sisters, Julie Rushing Austin and husband, Randy Austin, Terry Rushing Templeton and husband Johnathan Austin, Karen Temple and husband Paul Temple; best friend, Janice Martinez; brothers, Pleasant Monroe Rushing and wife, Barbara Rushing; grandchildren, her precious baby Brennan Michael Bass, Maggie "lil Yaya" Hunt, Spenser "roadrunner" Hunt, Anthony "Antonio" Hunt; her pet/companion "Champ" as well as many cherished friends and other extended family members. Preceded in death by her mother, Mary Milta LeClercq; her sister, Linda LeClercq Kim; and her father, "Judge" Rushing. She was a member of the Baton Rouge Apartment Association and an avid doll collector. She loved being around her family and friends.
