  Notes	Cambrian, 7 February 1908 Death of Capt. Basset Well Known To Swansea Devonians The death occurred on Monday of Captain Charles H. Basset, R.N., who formerly represented Barnstaple in Parliament. Captain Basset, who was born in 1834, was the son of Sir William Williams, of Tregullow, Cornwall. He married Miss Basset, of Watermouth Castle, and adopted his wife?s name. The deceased officer commanded a gunboat during the Crimean war, for which he received two medals.
