She was born April 6, 1954, in Summersville and was the daughter of the late Ray and Odessa Roberts. She was also preceded in death by her husband James Bass. Those left to cherish her memory are sons Mike Bates of Kimberly, John Bates of Elkview; daughter Tonya Bates of Kimberly; brothers Bobby Roberts of Belva, Darrell Roberts of Hilltop; sister Tammy Mullins of Swiss, and several grandchildren. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Montgomery Memorial Park Mausoleum at 11 a.m. with Reverend Robin Burdett officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park.
