CHICOPEE – Irene (Masse) Bessette, 80, formerly of 55 Whitman St., died Saturday in a local nursing home. She was the widow of Armand Bessette, who died in 1960. Born in Canada, she lived here for the past 70 years. She was a retired employee from the former Farr Alpaca Co., Holyoke. She was a communicant of the Nativity Church, and a member of the Willimansett Golden Agers. She leaves a son, Donald of Granby; a daughter, Doris Cote of Granby; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday morning at the Arthur J. Brunelle Funeral Home, Willimansett, and in St. Mary’s Church. Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery, Aldenville.
