With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leonard Kenneth Bass (Kansas City, Missouri), born in Independence, Missouri, who passed away on October 18, 2020 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. Bass and Mabel I. Bass (Esry); his sisters, Frances McClenahan and Catherine Lewis; his son-in-law James Kuehn; and his step-daughter-in-law Melissa Witthar.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Sue; his children, Cheryl Kuehn and Steve Bass (Linda); and his step-children, Jeff Witthar, Michelle, Stacia Quick and Erik McCoy. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Newcomer's Floral Hills Cemetery (7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133). The military honors will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2020 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home (7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133). A graveside service will follow at 2 p. m. Due to Covid-19, masks will be required.
In lieu of flowers, the family has established a charitable fund in Kenny's memory; donations may be made to the Truman Heartland Community Foundation, 4200 Little Blue Parkway, Ste. 340, Independence, Mo. 64057.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Newcomer's Floral Hills Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. Due to Covid-19, masks will be required.
