He was born April 23, 1946 in Greensboro, NC, to Claudia (Russon) Sampson of New Britain and the late James Bass, and was a resident of Hartford for 35 years. Besides his mother, he is survived by two sons, Lee Anthony Harris of North Carolina and Tony Bass of Hartford; two stepsons, Dexter Menyfield and Donny Menyfield, both of Hartford; three daughters, Stacey Anderson of Florida and Quana Menyfield of Hartford, Daniel Daniels; three brothers, James W. Bass of Hartford, Larry F. and David N. Bass, both of New Britain; a sister, Claudette M. Bass of East Hartford; seven grandchildren; three uncles; six aunts; and a host of nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service is Monday, 2 p.m., at Clark, Bell & Bell Funeral Home, 319 Barbour St., Hartford, with calling hour, 1 p.m. Burial at the convenience of the family.
