Bass, retired businessman and youngest brother of Mayor Ed Bass, will be held at 10:30 o?clock this morning in the chapel of the National Funeral Home, with the Revs. Battle McLester and Charles M. Fisher officiating. Bass died Wednesday night. He had been in poor health for some time. His family has been active in the public affairs of Chattanooga for many years, but he devoted his time to private business. One of his surviving brothers, Robert P. Bass, once served as sheriff of Hamilton County. Mayor Bass has been head of the city government since 1927. Pallbearers will be John F. Crabtree, J. Ernest Darr, Harry L. Gray, Boyd M. Hargraves, W.C. Morrison, W.C. Webb, Fred Scheidegger and N.W. Westbrook. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the board of stewards of the Ridgedale Methodist Church and of a Sunday School class in that church of which Bass was a member. Burial will be at Forst Hills Cemetery.
