Death Notice for Mrs. Jane Bassett

Mrs. Jane Bassett, a lifelong resident of Albion who would have been 87 years old next Decoration Day, passed away at her home on South Fifth Street Monday morning at 5:30 after a week's illness. Her death followed the passing of her only sister, the late Mrs. Susan Bassett who died just six weeks ago. Deceased was the last one of a family of seven children who with their parents, the late Thomas and Elizabeth Stanley, came to Albion in 1852.
Mr. and Mrs. Bassett became the parents of six children, five of whom survive. They are: Mrs. Edward Crome of Albion; Charles Bassett of Saginaw, Michigan; Mrs. H.P. Baker, San Francisco, California; Mark S. Bassett of Watsonville, California and Lloyd W. Bassett of Albion. Harry, a son, preceded his mother in death on December 16, 1924.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church on Wednesday afternoon by the pastor Rev. J.H. Davidson at two o'clock. Interment was made in the Albion Cemetery.
