P. Arthur Bessette Buried Yesterday
Funeral services for P. Arthur Bessette, of this city, who died suddenly Sunday morning, were held from St. Peter’s church at nine o’clock yesterday morning. Rev. J. H. Racette, O.M.I, celegrated the requiem high mass.
The pall bearers were Frank Spearman, Mark Tierney, John Riley, Andrew Mousseau, Joseph Mayette and Clarence Mousseau.
Burial was in St. Peter’s cemetery.
In the list of survivors mentioned in the account of Mr. Bessette’s death Monday morning appeared the name of a sister, Mrs. Sylvia Counte. The name should have read Mrs. Sylvia Conti Huntley.

P. Arthur Bessette Died Suddenly
Stricken While Walking on Bridge Street
Yesterday Morning; Funeral Tuesday
P. Arthur Bessette, of this city, died suddenly shortly before 10 o’clock yesterday morning. He was walking west on Bridge street and while crossing City Hall Place was stricken and fell to the sidewalk in front of Graves store.
Mr. and Mrs. John Maloney of 86 Court street, city, were proceeding west on Bridge street in an automobile and saw Mr. Bessette fall. They stopped their car, picked him up and brought him to the Champlain Valley hospital. Dr. F. K. Ryan, who was in the hospital, examined Mr. Bessette and pronounced him dead.
Dr. Ira W. Rowlson, coroner, was notified and gave a verdict of death due to natural causes.
Mr. Bessette was 46 years old. He is survived by his widow and seven children: Thelma, Clarence, Marion, Claire, Francis, Gloria and William. His father, B. Arthur Bessette; three brothers, G. William Bessette, D. Irving Bessette and Roy Bessette, and one sister, Mrs. Sylvia Counte, all of Plattsburgh, also survive.
His body was removed to the home of his brother, G. William Bessette. The funeral will be held from St. Peter’s church Tuesday morning at nine o’clock. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
