Fonda Bonnett
Ida Fonda Bonnett was born April 5, 1906 to William E. and Rachel Ann (White) Bass in St. Joseph, Missouri. She passed away Jan. 21, 1991 at the age of 84, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
She was united in marriage to Paul Bonnett on June 28, 1923 at the Episcopal Church in Chariton. To this union 5 daughters were born. Fonda and Paul spent 53 happy years together on their farm south of Chariton. He preceded her in death in October, 1975.
Fonda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; two brothers, Vernie and Henry Bass; and two sisters, Leora Gulley and Lois Penrod.
She is survived by 5 daughters: Louise Hoskins of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Frances Lang of Chula Vista, Calif.; Patricia Hull of Des Moines; Phyllis Roberts of Bettendorf; and Martha Lewis of Fresno, Calif.; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 25, 1991 at the Fielding Funeral Home with the Pastor Paul Olson officiating. Serving as bearers were Merwyn Thompson, Ernest Comito, Chris Schroeder, Jerry Jansen, Don Roberts, James Hull and Steve Hull. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
