Donald Vance Bass, 85, of Sibley formerly of Gainesville, FL, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025 at his home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children?s Hospital or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Donald was born on September 10, 1939 in Kissimmee, FL a son of Clifton and Alene Ryan Bass. He married Betty Mullins on September 15, 1972 in Folkston, GA.
He is survived by his wife Betty Bass of Sibley, his sister-in-law Linda Reiff, his niece Kisha (Branden) Kruse, and his nephew Eric (Jamie) Jennings. He is also survived by his great niece and nephews, Chandler Kruse, Breydon, Jakob, and Faith Jennings. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Michael Steele, and his two brothers Clyde and Dean Bass.
Donald worked as a construction worker for many years in Florida, specializing in carpet installation for large building projects. Being born and raised in Florida and a true ?Florida Boy? he loved the warm weather and rooting for the Florida Gators. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with friends and family.
