George Washington Bass
George Washington Bass, 69, of Roswell, N.M., passed away in Albuquerque, N.M., on Sunday, July 18, 2010. George was born in Haylow, Ga., on Sept. 24, 1940, to Max and Ethel (Griffis) Bass. He had lived in Roswell for the past 13 years having previously lived in Albuquerque. He married Patsy Makinson in Alamogordo, N.M., on Sept. 23, 1960.
He was a member of the Sertoma Organization, an Ordained Minister and a member of the National Hearing Aid Association. George was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patsy Bass of Roswell, N.M.; sons Chris Bass and Dymphna Bacon of Moriarty, N.M., Bill Bass and his wife, Becky, of Hobbs, N.M., and Trevor Bass and his wife, Grechen, of Albuquerque, N.M..; brother, Jim Bass; and four grandchildren, Abigail, Margaret, Royce and Maryjane. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Cahoon Park in Roswell, N.M. at 5 p.m. with Brother Dale Shirley officiating. Arrangements entrusted to: Harris-Hanlon Mortuary.
