Llewellyn Bassett Sudden Death at Llandaff We regret to announce the death, which took place with almost tragic suddenness on Sunday morning, of Mr. Robert Llewellyn Bassett, of Waterhall Farm, Llandaff, near Cardiff. Deceased was one of the best known, most successful, and highly respected farmers in Glamorganshire. He actively identified himself with all movements for the betterment of the interests of farmers, and he rendered long and valuable services to the Glamorganshire Agricultural Association, the Cowbridge Farmers? Association, & c. He frequently officiated at various agricultural shows as steward, judge, &c., and his advice was much sought after and valued. Mr. Bassett was born at Waterhall Farm, and was related to the Bassetts of Bonvilstone, one of the oldest families in the county. Deceased, who was a Conservative in politics, and a Churchman, for some years represented Radyr on the Cardiff Board of Guardians, and was 39 years of age. He married about 16 years ago Miss Davies, of Trehebert. Up to Thursday last he was apparently in his usual health, but after a visit on that day to his farm of the judges of the Glamorganshire Agricultural Society, with whom he spent some time inspecting the root crops, he complained of feeling unwell. On Friday his medical adviser, Dr. Campbell, of Canton, was called in, and on Saturday Mr. Bassett seemed to have improved considerably, but on Sunday morning he died suddenly from syncope.
