Henry Evans Bassett Jr.
Henry E. Bassett, Jr., age 64, longtime Vestal, NY resident passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017.
Hank was born February 23, 1953 in Dobbs Ferry, NY to the late Henry and Kathleen (Coffin) Bassett. He spent his formative years in Briarcliff Manor, NY.
From an early age, motorcycles were Hank's passion, a champion at Champion Speedway (Owego), regarded by many in the racing world as one of the best riders of his time.
Hank worked at Hudson Valley Motorcycle in Millwood, NY then at J&J Cycles in Vestal, NY and his own business, Race Tech, in Appalachin.
Hank was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1986, fighting the disease valiantly most of his adult life. He kept his positive outlook, patience and appreciation for life.
Hank is survived by his siblings, Patricia (Rocco) Trapasso of Ossining, NY, Susan Bassett (Sally) of Geneva, NY and Kenneth Bassett of Farmington, ME, and nieces, nephews.
Services will be private.

GENEVA- Henry E. ?Hank? Bassett, Jr. age 64 formerly of Vestal, NY passed away on Saturday February 25, 2017 at the Geneva Living Center South.
Henry was born on February 23, 1953 in Tarrytown, NY the son of the late Henry and Kathleen Coffin Bassett and was a self-employed Motorcycle Mechanic for many years in Vestal.
Henry is survived by his siblings, Susan Bassett (Sally Webster) of Geneva, Patricia Trapasso of Ossining, NY and Kenneth Bassett of Farmington, ME.
Henry Evans Bassett Jr. took part in the Bassett DNA testing as Kit #189257.
