Bassett, 85, formerly of Ogdensburg and Saranac, died Sunday at Alice Hyde Nursing Home. Mrs. Bassett lived in Ogdensburg for 30 years and in Malone for the past 10 years. Born Sept. 22, 1916, in Beekmantown, she was a daughter of Joseph and Hannah Ryan Dwyer. A marriage to Wayne Bassett on Nov. 26, 1938, ended in divorce. Surviving are two sons, Vilas, Arizona, and Gerard, Cadyville; a sister, a brother, two grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dannemora, with the Rev. John Looby officiating. Burial will be in Dannemora Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with Fox-McLellan Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.
