John George Bass
John George Bass, born July 5, 1905 in Birmingham, AL., the son of John George and Belle Alston Bass, died September 10, 2001. His wife Orpha Rogers Bass predeceases him. Survivors include his daughter and son in-law, Molly Bass Brown and Weyman Brown and grand daughter Molly Brown, all of Atlanta; two sisters and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Bass graduated from Howard College, now Samford University in Birmingham, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He lived for many years in Louisville, KY. before retiring to Linden, AL. In 1998 he moved to St. Anne's Terrace in Atlanta to be near his daughter. He was a resident of Budd Terrace at the time of his death. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Anne's Terrace, 3100 Northside Parkway, NW., Atlanta, GA. 30327 or All Saints Episcopal Church, 634 West Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA. 30308. Graveside services will be 11AM Wednesday, September 12, 2001 at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, AL. Arrangements made by H.M. Patterson & Son, Spring Hill Chapel. 404-876-1022.
