Phyllis Bass
Phyllis Bass, 74, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 5, at her residence. She was the wife of the late James F. Bass. Born on August 12, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Charles Ferrar and Phyllis E. Bollinger Ferrar.
She was an avid scuba diver and earned the certification of Assistant Dive Master; She cherished her time spent with husband Jim in Key Largo, Florida; boating, jet skiing, bike riding and watching sunsets on the water. She also felt blessed for her time spent with her best friends in the morning Aerobics crew. Her greatest joy was watching all of her grandchildren's events and their athletic contests. Following them on Facebook, Face-time, Instagram and Snapchat brought her great joy. Recently she looked forward to volunteering in her granddaughter Tiffani's kindergarten classroom.
She is survived by three children: Jim Bass, Jr. and wife Cheryl, Scott Bass, Sherri Krivos and husband Chris; seven grandchildren: Brittany Bass, J.C. Grubbs, Austin Grubbs, Mariah Bass, Tiffani Grubbs, Christian Bass and Gavin Bass; siblings: Charles Ferrar and wife Bev and Diane Atkinson and husband Dave. Phyllis is also survived by her very special nieces: Barbara VanSchoor, Susie Milwit, Cindy Brown and Lisa Marberger.
The family will greet friends and family on Sunday, September 9 from 12:00-1:00 PM and follow with a "Celebration of Life" Service from 1:00-2:00 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
