Russell Bassett, World War II veteran
Russell L. Bassett, 72, of Norwalk, died on Oct. 22 at his home. He was the father of Louis Bassett of Wilton and the husband of Josephine Milazzo Bassett.
He was born in Lyndonville, Vt., a son of the late Earl and Rose Bovare Bassett. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He worked as a printer with O?Brien Press until it closed and retired after 20 years with Perkin-Elmer Corp.
Besides his wife and son, he is survived by two daughters, Lynn Bassett of Waterbury and Shari Lynn Herman of Stratford; a brother, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Norwalk. Burial followed in St. John Cemetery.

The Magner Funeral Home of Norwalk was in charge of arrangements.
