Christopher Dow Bass
Christopher "Chris" Dow Bass, 54, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at his home surrounded by family.
Chris was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on June 24, 1969. He attended Sussex High School in Stoney Creek, Virginia where he played football. Chris started his career in trucking and went on to have his own trucking business. Chris enjoyed fishing and vacationing to the Gulf of Mexico and was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Duke Blue Devils fan.
Chris is survived by his loving wife, Karin (Garrison) Willett-Bass of Newburgh, IN; children, Karli Armstrong of Ripley, VA, Amasha Fisher of Owensboro, KY, Sydney Bass-Brown (Spencer) of Evansville, IN, Desmond Bass (Alyssa) of Newburgh, IN, Brittaney Willett (Steven) of Evansville, IN, Cameron Willett (Sarah) of Evansville, IN, Hannah Willett (David) of Newburgh, IN, Caitlyn Goedde (Scott) of Evansville, IN and McKenzie Dillon (Dalton) of Petersburg, IN; mother, Shirley (Sexton) Forehand (Richard); brother, Melvin Bass (Tami); grandchildren, Royal Dean, Khyani Smith, Brixon Curry, Ryker Freels, Adalyn Goedde, and Lanie B. Pulliam; and by his niece and nephew, Amber Perry and Brandon Bass. Chris is also survived by his extended daycare family, Koah & Krew Clem, Jenson & Collins Gentry, Quincy Sue & Atlas Tillman, Amina Myers, Cooper Ritchie, Zaela & Eliza Robertson, Hudson Scrivner, Journi Schmittler, Elani Zamora, Magnola Terrell and Aylin Gayso.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Bass; and brother, Leslie Bass, Jr.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 followed by a reception at The Gathering Place on the Browning Funeral Home campus.
