Everett Bassett
Funeral services for Everett Bassett, 74, of Carthage, were held Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. from the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam with the Rev. Donald Dodds, former pastor of the United Methodist Church in Parishville, officiating. Burial will be made in the spring in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Parishville.
Mr. Bassett died Monday (Jan. 9, 1978) in a Carthage area hospital.
There were Masonic services on Jan. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Seymour Funeral Home.
Surviving are his widow, Ethel Aldous; one sister, Hilda Bassett of Rochester; four cousins, Ruth Clark of Carthage, Edna Clinch of Florida, Cindy Mulisch of Carthage and Eric Barkley of Merrilville, Canada; three step-children, Mrs. Grace Bowles of Alexandria Bay, Mrs. James (Muriel) Patton of Hermon and Melbern Aldous of DeKalb; nine step-grandchildren and three step-greatgrandchildren.
Mr. Bassett was born in Massachusetts on may 10, 1903, the son of William and Arletta Patterson. He married Hilda Charles on Oct. 1, 1927. She died in 1967. He married Ethel Crary on Sept. 8, 1973 in Alexandria Bay.
Mr. Bassett was a retired employee of Nekoosa Edwards Paper Co. He was a member of Masonic Lodge High Falls 395 of Parishville, the Inlet Hunting Club, Town of Wilna Housing Authority of Carthage and was a former volunteer fireman of Parishville.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Parishville Union Church.
