She was married for 52 years to her surviving husband, Dennis. They lived and raised their family together in Independence, MO, moving to Teetering Rocks Villas in Kansas City in 2017 to age in place.
Along with Dennis are three surviving daughters, Kellie Tohill (Ed) Lee's Summit, MO, Kristi Gaylord (Jeff) Lee's Summit, MO, Kammie Lara (Jorge) Blue Springs, MO and her foreign exchange student daughter Adriana Santofimio (Eduardo Ronderos) Toronto, Canada. She was blessed with many beautiful grandchildren: Grace, Sam, Nate and Preston Tohill; Emily, Alex and Zoey Gaylord, Lucy and Molly Lara. Barbara was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, Mimi, and friend to many who were blessed to cross her path. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially planning many fun holiday games and activities for the grandchildren. She was a great cook and baker and spoiled her family and friends with many delicious treats over the years. Barbara lived her life intentionally and created a connection with everyone she met.
Barbara was a practicing Christian who was guided and sustained by the love, presence and sovereignty of the Lord Jesus Christ. She enjoyed being creative through photography and journaling. The desire to inspire before you expire led her through life and especially these last few years existing alongside breast cancer.
