      James D. Bass

      Dunn. ? James D. Bass, 85, Sampson County, farmer, died at his home on Roseboro, Route 2, about 7 o?clock Monday morning. He had been in ill health for sometime.
      Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o?clock at the Mt. Elam Baptist Church on Roseboro, Route 2. The Rev. Mr. Abernathy will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
      Mr. Bass was a native and life-long resident of Sampson County, and was a member of the Mt. Elam Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Martha Bass; three daughters, Mrs. Oscar McLenney of Clinton, Route 5, Mrs. Jojhn A. Tew of Erwin, and Mrs. Glnn Brude of Roseboro, Route; 15 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
