Mrs. Rebecca Ann Bass Blue, age 76 of Laurinburg, NC departed this life on June 17, 2023.
The adored daughter of Hazelene Holland Bass and the late Willie ?W.C.? Campbell Bass, Jr., was born October 17, 1946 in Sampson County, North Carolina. She would marry the love of her life, Jim Blue who she was blessed to share a wonderful life with. Rebecca was a Registered Nurse with Abbott Laboratories where she loved caring for the employees from the opening in 1970 until the closing in 2002. Prior to her illness, Rebecca served as an active faithful member of First United Methodist Church. She had a passion for animals, loved being outdoors working in the yard caring for her plants and flowers. Her most cherished time was being with her family, especially her son, Jimmy. Rebecca was Jimmy?s greatest cheerleader in life. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory is husband, Jim Blue of the home; adored son, Jimmy Blue (Blaire) of Burlington, NC; mother, Hazelene H. Bass of Raeford, NC; brother, Willie ?Clayton? Bass III (Hester) of Santa Fe, NM; grandchildren, Lyda Blue and Iver Blue; special nieces and nephews, Miranda Bass, Anderson Bass, Lauren Averitt, Allison Averitt, Alyssa Brown Moseley (Cord), and Alex Brown; along with her loving extended family and many friends.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 in the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
The family requests donations be given in Rebecca's memory to the Humane Society of Scotland County, 1401 West Boulevard, Laurinburg, NC 28352.
