Richard J. ?Rick? Bass
Richard James "Rick" Bass, 46, Independence, died Monday, March 1, 2004.
Mr. Bass was born July 15, 1957, in New Bern, N.C. He was an Army veteran and was raised in the Lutheran faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard D. Bass, and a great-niece, Lauren Lockard.
His survivors include a daughter, Brittney M. Bass, Grain Valley; his parents, Naomi and Robert McDonald, Independence; three sisters, Sherrie Gibson and husband, Stephen, Independence, Shannon Abeln and husband, Gregory, Naples, Fla., and Robin Shepperson and husband, Joseph, Danville, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, Independence. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville. Friends may call from 6 to 8 tonight at the chapel. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Rick Bass Memorial Fund, in care of Naomi McDonald, Bank of Jacomo, P.O. Box 520, Blue Springs, Mo. 64013.
