      With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Gladys Bass (nee Mort) on March 13, 2024. Gladys was a beacon of love and strength, dearly missed by all who knew her. She is reunited in eternal peace with her beloved late husband, Joseph W. Bass, Jr.
      Gladys was more than a sister; she was a devoted companion to Shirley Bass and her husband Robert. Together, they shared countless cherished memories. She was preceded in death by her late sister, Patricia Ortman, whose memory she held dear.
      Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of her nieces and nephews. Donna Bethke and her husband Al, Joni Pistorio and her late husband Joseph "Ed", Kimberly Durham and her late husband Brian, Richard Ortman, Michael Ortman and his wife Kathy, Debra Glessner and her husband James, Steven Ortman and his wife Melissa, Frederick Williams and his wife Pat, Michael Williams and his wife Diane, Sharon Vasquez and her husband Roberto and Patricia Presti and her memory will be cherished by her numerous loving great-nieces and nephews, all of whom she held a special place in her heart. Gladys embodied the essence of dedication, love, and patience, gracing the lives of her nieces and nephews with unwavering care and boundless affection. Always a steadfast source of support and love, she nurtured their spirits and illuminated their paths with her gentle presence.
      Gladys was also predeceased by her sister-in-law Patricia Williams and her late husband Fred. Their memory will forever hold a special place in her heart, as she cherished the moments shared with them, their presence lending warmth and meaning to her life's journey.
      She is also survived by her dear friends at Oak Crest Village who were more than companions; they were kindred spirits with whom she shared countless cherished moments and activities, fostering a community of warmth and camaraderie. Gladys's legacy of love and friendship will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched, leaving behind a tapestry of beautiful memories that will endure through the ages. Her memory will forever remain a source of comfort and inspiration.
      Funeral services to celebrate Gladys's life will be held at the Oak Crest Village Chapel on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 11:00 am. While interment will be private, the love and support of friends and family will surround her.
      In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Oak Crest Village Benevolent Fund. Your generosity will honor Gladys's legacy of caring for others in need.
