Mrs. Susan Bass, 40, well-known Sampson County, woman, died at her home near Newton Grove late Tuesday night. She had been ill for about two months and seriously ill for several days. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 o?clock at the home on Newton Grove-Clinton highway. The Rev. Forrest Young, pastor of the Benson Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Elam Church Cemetery. Surviving are her husband, William Martin Bass; a daughter, Marie Bass; a son, O.C. Bass; two sisters, Mrs. Rowena Connor of Garland and Mrs. Glenn Bruce of Roseboro; and four brothers, Allen, Leonard, and Troy Bass of Roseboro, and Jenkings Bas of Clinton.
