MILFORD - George P. Chappell, 85, died Sept. 26, 2011, at Community Hospice House, Merrimack, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Clarksville on Nov. 6, 1925, a son of Perley G. and Diana (Martel) Chappell.
Mr. Chappell resided in Milford for the past 75 years. In 1955, he founded Chappell Tractors Sales Inc. in Milford.
Mr. Chappell was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Pauline (Bassett) Chappell.
Family members include his wife, Joan (Barkley) Chappell of Milford; three sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Bonnie Chappell, Kent and Sharon Chappell, Carl and Sally Chappell, all of Milford; a daughter and son-in-law, Norma and Ivan Klopfenstein of Concord; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Jeane and her husband, Patrick, of Louisiana; 12 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 28 great-grandchildren; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn Williams of New York, Beatrice Pikcilingis of Milford, Esther and Arleigh Bassett of New York, Ann and Kenneth of West Virginia, Nancy and Richard Blakemore of Durham; many nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: There are no calling hours.
Funeral services are Saturday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. at 17 Federal Hill Road, Milford. Burial will be private in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.
