William Henry Bass removed from NC to Tennessee in the month of September, 1866, arriving at Union City on the 10th of that month and was joined by his wife and two children March 1, 1867. In October 67, he remved with his family to Gleeson Station in Weekley County where he still resides with his two motherless children.
A Venerable Minister Gone

Rev. W.H. Bass, who moved to Hickory last fall from Guilford county,d ied at his residence Thursday eveningat 7:30 o?clock. He has been confined bo his room with consumption ever since he has been in the place, and for the past twelve months hs been quite feeble. Mr. Bass graduated at Randolph Macon College of Virginia about 45 years ago, since which time the most of life has been spent teaching in N.C., Va., Tenn., and Ark. In 1870-71 he was a Professor of Latin, Greek and Mathematics in Murfreesboro College. For the past twenty years he has been local minister of the Methodist Church, South, and has labored efficiently in that capacity as a noble Christian should. He leaves only one son and ond daughter ? his wife having died about 15 years. At the time of his death the deceased was 65 years, 6 month and 23 days old. The funeral sermon was preached in the Methodist Church yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o?clock by Rev. P.L. Herman, after which the remains were interred in the town cemetery.
