George David Bass
BASS, Mr. George David, age 86, a resident of Wetumpka, Alabama passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 10, 2009 at 2:00p.m. at Gassett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Milford Lumpkin and Rev. Gerald Wood officiating. Interment will follow at Pine View Memorial Gardens with Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing. Mr. Bass owned and operated Bass T.V. service prior to his death. He served in the Armed Services during World War II. George was preceded in death by wife and mother of his children, Dwilda Knight Bass; parents, Chester and Edna G. Bass; step-mother, Julian Shaw Bass; sister, Helen B. Grier; and brothers, Nelson S. Bass and Bill Bass. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth T .Bass; sons, Durand (Maunette) Bass of Opelika, AL, Reeche Danton (Jenni) Bass and Walden Bass, all of Montgomery, AL; daughters, Brianna (Victor) Hunt of Brewton, AL and Elissa (Bobby) Kilpatrick of Montgomery, AL; step-sons, Jeff (Lynda) Houston of Frisco, Texas and Drew (Linda) Houston of Houston, Texas; step-daughters, Charlene(Jason) Sturdivant of Chatom, AL and Dharlene Wilson of Richmond, KY; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Sam C. (Dot) Bass of Wetumpka, AL; sisters, Eugenia B. Rhodes of Charleston, SC and Martha B. Dampier of St. Petersburg, FL and Wetumpka, AL; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and longtime faithful and loyal employee, Travis Johnson. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions maybe made to one's favorite charity. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Gassett Funeral Home.
