Hoyt (Sam) Lee Bass
Hoyt (Sam) Lee, 41, passed away on Oct. 5, 1994. A retired Army disabled American Veteran, born in Oklahoma City and lived here all of his life. He attended Capitol Hill H.S. Hoyt played wheelchair basketball for many years and was an avid fisherman, hunter, scuba diver, wheelchair baseball player and an excellent chess player. He was on television for various causes and had recently appeared in a movie, "The Dennis Byrd Story". The only thing he ever really got mad about was able-bodied p eople who would park in wheelchair parking spaces. Hoyt was the best husband and father, always with them and never failing to provide for or protect them. He was brave and loyal, and we will always love him. Hoyt will be missed by a host of family and f riends who will never forget him. Hoyt is in Heaven now where he will be forever happy in eternity and we hear there's a great basketball team up there. He is survived by his wife, Cecelia; son, James; parents, Hoyt and Mozelle Bass, all of OKC; 2 sister s, Kaye Anderson of MWC and Joy Parker of Madill, Ok.; nieces, Jill and Katie Parker; and nephews, Jason Lynn and Jimmy Parker. Memorials may be sent to the OKIE Spokesmen Wheelchair Basketball Team, c/o Dwight Rowe, 1665 N. Donald, Apt. 165, OKC 73127. Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Sat., Oct. 8, 1994 at the South Colonial Chapel.
