Ralph Obon Bass Funeral Services for Ralph Obon Bass will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June18, 2011 in the chapel of Kramer of Colfax with Rev. Jamie Edwards officiating. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery, Colfax. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2011 and from 8 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Kramer of Colfax. Ralph Obon Bass, 84, passed away Monday, June 13, 2011 at the VA Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Bass; his mother, Martha Watkins Bass; his father, Charlie M. Bass; two brothers, Clifford and Johnny Bass; two sisters, Chris Harrison and Nina Conner; one grandson, Mikel Fletcher and one great-grandson, Jousha Edwards. Ralph Bass was born of August 7, 1926 in Ora, Texas. He is survived by his six children, Glenda Vowell of Frankston, Texas, Ralph Dean Bass, Sr. and wife, Madelion (Mattie) of Lund, Nevada, Kathy Briggs of Jacksonville, Texas, Dennis Ray Bass, Sr. and wife, Virginia (Jeanie) of Colfax, Tammy Wells and husband, Jimmy of Jacksonville, Texas and Dorothy Fletcher and husband, DeWayne of Colfax; nineteen grandchildren, thirty one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Etta Hanna of Tyler, Texas and Shirley Yarbrough of Bullard, Texas; one brother, Brady Wayne Bass of Greenville, Texas and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Dennis R. Bass, Jr., James Bass, Arlis Bass, Taylor Fletcher, Ralph D. Bass, Jr. (Jr.) and Trent Lee Taylor.
