Robert Lee Bass

CHESAPEAKE, Va. ? Robert Lee Bass, 85, husband of the late Margaret Robbins Bass, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2015.
He was born in Wilson, Nov. 8, 1930, a son of the late John J. and Susan J. Batts Bass. He had been a Wilson County resident until moving to Virginia a short time ago. He had been employed as a grocery store merchant until his retirement.
He is survived by his stepson, William D. Moore of Raleigh; his stepdaughters, Cathy Jane Pollard, and her, husband, Gene, of Wilson, and Carolyn George, and her husband, Wendell, of Chesapeake, Virginia; his brother, William Earl Bass of Elm City; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
His family will receive relatives and friends from noon -1 p.m. Saturday at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, 2708 Nash St., Wilson, followed by his funeral at 1 p.m.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.
