      Mr. Charles A. Bass Dead.

      Mr. Charles A. Bass, a well-known and popular young business man of this city, died about 11 o?clock last night at the Baltimore Sanitorium, at Ashville, N.C. His brother, Mr. James D. Bass, Jr. of this city, was with him at the time of his death. Mr. Bass was president of the Charles A. Bass Cigar Company, Incorporated, and was one of the most popular and highly respected young men in Petersburg.
      He was a member of Petersburg Council, Knights of Columbus, and of the Petersburg Lodge of Elks. He married Miss Bessie White, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.N. White, of Raleigh, N.C., who survives him with a little son, Charles A. Bass, Jr. Mr. Bass was twenty-nine years old. The funeral will take place here at 4 o?clock tomorrow afternoon from St. Joseph?s Catholic Church.
