Annie B. Mandelin
Mrs. Annie Laurie Bass Mandelin passed to her Lord on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, after a brief illness. In recent years, Mrs. Mandelin had resided in Texas, and it was there that she died peacefully, surrounded by friends and family. She was born March 14, 1940 in Wayne County, N.C. to Lydia Jones Bass and Benjamin Hubert Bass, both deceased. She was the baby of six children including Mary Hunt, Mildred Johnson, Carole Woodard and Robert bass, all deceased. She was the widow of Charles Leonard Mandelin Jr. and the mother of Matthew Nikolai, also deceased. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Susan Mandelin and Jamil Khan of Texas, Charles L. Mandelin III and Heidi Clark of Durham; her brother, Hubert Dale Bass; her grandchildren, Farooq and Omar Khan, Karl, Ben and Nick Mandelin; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 1, 2006a t 2 p.m. at the Rosewood Family Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home in Goldsboro. Visiting and fellowship will follow the service.
