Sam Pershing Bass, 70, died Friday.
Born in Fairfield County, he was the son of the late Allen and Cora Dove Bass. A World War II Army veteran, he was a retired carpenter. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are a son, Wayne Bass of Ridgeway; and a brother, Tollie Bass of Ridgeway.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. today in Aimwell Cemetery. Pope Funeral Home of Winnsboro is in charge.
