He was born Mar. 5, 1944 in Tulsa, OK to Ervin Bassett and Tommie H. Frieze Bassett. He married LaHoma J. Horton Oct. 17, 1969 in Tulsa. He worked as a Yard Grader in new home and commercial construction. He served in the Marine Corps Reserves for 8 years and was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of The Sports Car Club of America for many years as both a driver and supporter. Mr. Bassett was preceded in death by his parents. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Eric R. Bassett and his wife Simrit K. Bassett of Jenks; a granddaughter, Lila K. Bassett and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to StreetCats Inc., 6520 E 60th St., Tulsa, OK. 74145.
