Lois Bobby Harness Bass
Lois Bobby Harness Bass, 78, of Oliver Springs, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Born May 19, 1925, in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the Rev. C.M. Harness and Annie Roberts Harness.
A lifelong resident of the area, Mrs. Bass worked as a nanny for the Simon-tov family of Knoxville for 20 years. She was also a dietitian at NHC HealthCare of Oak Ridge for 10 years.
Her family said she enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, gardening and putting puzzles together.
She was a longtime member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, J.C. Bass; a son-in-law, Glen Haney Jr.; and by a brother, Alfred Harness.
Mrs. Bass is survived by her husband of 56 years, the Rev. William "Bill" Bass; four sons, Harvey Bass and wife, Katie, David Bass, Jerry Bass and wife, Debbie, and Jeff Bass and wife, Rhonda, all of Oliver Springs; and by three daughters, Trula Justice and husband, Denny, Clara Ricker and husband, Dallas, and Amy Braden and husband, Spanky, all of Oliver Springs.
She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Dee Harness and wife, Mildred, of Ridgeville, S.C.; a sister, Audrey Seeber of Strawberry Plains; and by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Adalee Harness of Lake City and the Mashe Simon-tov family of Knoxville are considered special friends.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at Mineral Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Charlie Mack Marlow, the Rev. Don Daugherty and the Rev. Spanky Braden officiating. Burial will follow at Mineral Springs Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs.
