Wilmer Bass
FAIRMONT -- Wilmer Bass, 71, of Route 3 died Monday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
He retired from the Air Force after 23 years and was a member of Centerville Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Centerville Baptist Church by the Rev. Dougald McLaurin. Burial will be in Floyd Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Bass is survived by his wife, Helen M. Bass of the home; three sons, Larry Bass and Jimmy L. Bass, both of Fairmont, and Michael Bass of Dillon, S.C.; a daughter, Katie B. McLoskey of Philadelphia; a brother, Frank Bass of Wilmington; four sisters, Vivian Arnette, Bertha Strickland and Kathleen Rowell, all of Fairmont, and Loraine Cook of Alexandria, Va.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Floyd Funeral Services and other times at the home.
