  Notes	The San Diego Union and Daily Bee, California, Wednesday, 12 October 1983 Dr. Clyde Bassett Dr. Clyde Bassett, 68, a family physician with a practice in Escondido for 36 years and a director of the Northern San Diego County Hospital District, died Sunday at Palomar Memorial Hospital of an acute heart attack. He was a native of Lago, Idaho, and had been a physician for 42 years. He served as flight surgeon in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Dr. Bassett was a member of the Association of California Hospitals, the Senior Anglers of Escondido and the Navy League and was a past president and current member of Rotary International. With four other physicians, he built the Escondido Medical Center in 1962. He served for nine years on the North County hospital board. Survivors include his wife, Judy, his mother, Ines of San Diego; two sons Brant of Budapest, Hungary, and Cody, of Reno, Nev.; a daughter, Penny Parsons, al Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Athlene bassett of San Diego; a brother, Allen of Canoga Park, and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. today at the First Congregational Church of Escondido. Dr. James Nettings will officiate. Cremation is planned.
