Gloria P. Bass
Gloria "Doby" Parker Bass, 79, of Lake Park, Ga. passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at Smith Northview Hospital.
Mrs. Bass was born in Fargo, Ga., to the late Jackson Sr. and Sarah Oliver Parker. She was a former resident of the Palatka area, where she was employed by Hudson Pulp and Paper. She and her husband also spent a number of years managing Stuckeys restaurants before she retired and returned to Echols County. Mrs. Bass was a member of Statenville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, A.C. Bass, Lake Park, Ga.; one son, Robert "Bob" Bass, Lake Park; one daughter, Linda Sue Carpenter (Mike), Green Cove Springs; one sister, Eunice Herndon, Lake City; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at Statenville Baptist Church with Pastor Ted Sauls officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Echols County Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 190 Statenville, GA 31648.
Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, is in charge of the arrangements.
