Harold Lewis Schrock Sr. (Picture included)
Harold Lewis Schrock Sr., age 87, born December 4, 1925, in Barnesboro, PA. Son of the late Henry H. and Elizabeth Bassett Schrock, passed away peacefully at home Monday, September 30, 2013. His loving wife of 41 years, Virginia Pecchio Schrock, preceded him in death. He is survived by his six caring children, Diane (Bruce) Thatcher, Kathleen Buckley, Susan (Ralph) Church, Hal (Sherri), Cindy (Mike) Dildine, and Ken (Susan); his special sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Mike Cerio; 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Harold was a Navy veteran, retired from National Homes and Elmira City Schools Bus Garage. He was a member of New Beginnings United Methodist Church. Harold was an avid bowler, keen golfer, and in recent years thoroughly enjoyed watching TV golf and football as a Buffalo Bills fan, who happily won Sunday's game. He totally enjoyed spending time at his Seneca Lake cottage for 50+ years with his family and friends. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at New Beginnings United Methodist Church at 300 E. Miller St., Elmira, NY on Wednesday, October 2nd, at 4:00 p.m. Funeral services honoring his life will follow the visitation at 6:00 p.m. Harold's niece, a professional singer from New York City, Theresa Cerio, will sing at the service. Rev. Leanne Zeck will celebrate Harold's services. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of his family in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to New Beginnings United Methodist Church. Guest book may be signed in obituaries at www.olthof.com.
