Ruth Bass Northrup was born on April 3, 1951 to Flossie and Milton Bass in Goldsboro NC. She died of natural causes on March 29, at her home in Carver, MA.
Ruth was born in Goldsboro, NC. She grew up in Jacksonville NC and later resided in several locations including Georgia, South Carolina, Belgium and Germany. Ruth relocated and made her home in Massachusetts, in 1988. Ruth worked in the retail field as a convenience store manager and eventually owned her own store before retiring due to medical reasons. However, she later returned to the work force and, until her passing, maintained employment as a part-time Home Companion and held a second job as a housekeeper.
Ruth was known for her boundless energy. She was an active member of her church as well as a member of Grandparents Raising Grandchildren and she maintained the position of Treasurer for her T.O.P.S. chapter. Ruth enjoyed spending time with friends and family and especially enjoyed hosting family events and ?get-togethers?. She also enjoyed music, plays, mahjong, and traveling.
Ruth is survived by her three daughters, Kimberly Elliott, Rhonda Chaves and Tabitha Walker, and grandchildren Mandy, Tareka, Rayanne, Robekka, Cheyanne, Keyfer, Jacob and Skye as well as 9 great grandchildren and several ?furry? family members.
Visitation will be on Saturday April 6 th from 10:00 am-11:00 am followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 am at Church of The Vine in Carver MA. Please feel free to wear something purple in honor of Ruth. The service will be accessible via Live Stream on the church website https://www.thevinecarver.com/
