Arleigh L. Bassett
BASSETT ? Died August 15, 1974, in Beltsville, Maryland, Arleigh L. Bassett, resident of Federal Hill, Milford. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday morning at 10 o?clock at the Smith and Heald Funeral Home, 37 Elm Street, Milford. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery, Nashua. Calling hours at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 7 to 9.
Arleigh L. Bassett, 86, of Federal Hill, Milford, died yesterday in Beltsville, Md., after a brief illness. Born in Clarkesville, N.H., Sept. 28, 1887, he had resided in Milford for the past five years and was a resident of Hollis for 20 years. Mr. Bassett resided for most of his life in Canaan, Vt.
He was employed as a foreman for many years at the Beecher Falls Factory, Beecher Falls, Vt., and had operated a farm in Hollis.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Chappell of Milford and Mrs. Katherine Morgan of Beltsville; one son, Arleigh S. Bassett of Pembroke; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The Smith and Heald Funeral Home, Milford, is in charge of arrangements.
